ISE 2018 - A Glimpse Into The Largest AV and Systems Integration Show in the World! Part 1 of 2
While temperatures danced around zero degrees in early February 2018, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE 2018) in Amsterdam braced itself for an onslaught of over 80,000 visitors, from all over the world. With 53,000-sqm of exhibition floor space, and a total of 1,296 exhibitors, it’s easy to see why huge numbers migrate north to Amsterdam for this 5-day event in the middle of winter.

Are You Are Becoming A Technology Dinosaur?
As one of the 30% of attendees visiting ISE 2018 for the first time, I was determined to make the most of the visit. But like a scene from Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’, I was quickly reduced in size by the towering exhibitor stands, including a 20ft OLED video wall (LG), as well as a two-storey holographic projection (Panasonic).
For those who were able to do a little more exploring they were rewarded with some interesting treasures. One was an interactive digital signage system which tracks viewer data from facial recognition. This nifty piece of kit picked up I was a ‘young adult male, with a surprised expression’ . If you looked even harder, you would have met a velociraptor in the XR (virtual, mixed, and augmented reality) exhibition hall.
One of my tasks at the ISE 2018 Expo was to hunt down one product which to me shouted Emerging Technologies with the condition that it was applicable and available for our customers to use now…. this for me had to be the room booking system – Reserva by Onelan.
