Environment Policy
Drake AV Video Ltd. delivers bespoke audio-visual and IT solutions for education, corporate, and commercial environments across South Wales and the M4 corridor. Our AV installations include video conferencing, digital signage, displays, interactive touchscreens, and audio systems, as well as technical services for live events, exhibitions, and hybrid meetings. With over 50 years of experience, we are ISO 9001:2015 certified and Safe Contractor accredited. Our sister company, Drake Educational Associates, shares our premises and publishes and distributes educational resources including books, computer accessories, headphones, and multimedia players.
The main environmental impacts of the business include waste packaging; energy and water consumption and efficiency; transport and logistics; environmental performance of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers; and environmental legislation affecting the activities, products and services of the organisation.
While we do not manufacture products, we recognise that aspects of our operations, including energy use, transport, packaging, and the sourcing of equipment – contribute to climate change. We are committed to reducing these impacts by minimising business travel, adopting energy-efficient technologies, reducing and recycling packaging, and working with responsible suppliers. Through these measures, we aim to play our part in mitigating climate change and supporting the wider transition to a low-carbon economy.
- Comply with the requirements of all relevant environmental legislation and have regard for associated guidance notes by implementing the Green Dragon Environment System.
- Commit to protecting the environment, including pollution prevention, sustainable resource use, climate change mitigation and adaptation and protection of biodiversity and ecosystems.
- Work to targets set in our improvement plan based on an initial environmental review.
- Monitor electricity and fuel usage to minimise consumption and to reduce pollution and greenhouse gases.
- Ensure staff members are made aware of the environmental impacts relating to their employment by memos and meetings.
- Act responsibly to protect the local environment.
- We will look for good environmental practise from our suppliers and contractors.
- Provide training to staff on environmental issues when necessary.
- Display the policy in our office reception, on our website and include it in our Staff Handbook.
- Annually review the improvement plan for relevance and update it if specific need arises such as a significant change, a new product/service or an environmental incident or accident.
